ACTIVITY MENUS

The Activity Menus allow you to access folders of activities arranged in a suggested teaching sequence. You can also create your own customised activities tailored to the student's specific needs. Activities can be completed by the student with your supervision or sent to the Student Login as homework.

The default activities are the large blue buttons on the left while folders containing these activities are green.

Playing a Default Activity

Click on an activity button to play an activity with the student. Their progress in the activity will be recorded by the program and the scaffolding support (indicated by the little circles above the activity name) will be automatically adjusted based on how the students perform in each activity.

Scaffolding will be automatically reduced until the student can complete the activity without help from the program. An orange tick indicates that the activity has been mastered.

Activity Folders

You can click on the green folders to open and close them. The folder state is saved for each student, so next time you log that student in, the Activity Menus will look the same as the last time you logged the student in.

This can be useful for keeping track of where students are up to. You can close folders of activities once they are mastered and see what students need help with or haven't attempted yet by looking at the level of scaffolding support for each activity.

Adjusting Activity Settings

If you would like to manually adjust the scaffolding level and number of times the student has to get each item right, select the Scoring > Manual button. You can now manually adjust the 'Start Level' and 'End Level' to change the difficulty of the activity for the student.

You can also adjust the number of items in an activity (by making changes to the Number setting) as well as adjust the complexity of vocabulary (choose from Vocabulary Level 1, Level 2 or All Words).
